  • Overview

    As a member of the Customer Service Team this position is the primary contact for customers with the Corporation. The purpose of this position is to allow the Customer Service Team to meet its goals of responding to customer inquiries, receiving customer payments, processing customer movements and safeguarding the Corporations receivable assets through timely collection activity in a professional manner and in a safe and secure environment.


    Cashiering/Customer Requests: 

    • Receive and accurately apply customer payments
    • Accurately and completely cash out till and deposit receipts daily
    • Work with finance, billing and other corporate staff on reconciling items as needed
    • Respond in a comprehensive and professional manner to all customer inquiries
    • Research and analyze customer accounts when required
    • Recommend and, on approval, process corrections on accounts
    • Ensure that all issues are satisfactorily resolved in a timely manner
    • Record all customer inquiries, document all customer interactions and responses in the notes section of the account card

    Service Orders:

    • Enter customer service orders completely and with all necessary information
    • Prior to connection, collect security deposit on all accounts that have not demonstrated credit worthiness
    • CSR is responsible for CSO’s until completion must Coordinate with plant operators/line crew on customer movements


    • Complete the collections process in each community on the scheduled dates in coordination with plant operators / line crew / Collections accountant and billing staff
    • Ensure payment is received on delinquent accounts or payment plans are made and followed
    • Ensure that all collections issues are resolved in a timely manner
    • Record all collections interactions, payment plans and issue resolutions on customer the notes section of the account card

    Other Duties: 

    • Maintain a relationship with local housing authorities and large customers
    • Alert the Manager, Customer Service of any potential public or political issues
    • Complete other tasks as assigned


    • High school diploma
    • One year subsequent work experience in a recognized contact center or similar customer services environment.
    • You must have advanced computer skills, be proficient with standard office software and have previously worked with customer information systems (CIS). Must have good planning, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
    • Team player with the ability to work with minimal supervision
    • Eligible for a valid Northwest Territories Class 5 driver's license.
