This is Journeyperson level work in the repair and maintenance of electrical generation and control equipment, along with auxiliary equipment such as electric motors, transformers, relays, electronic governors, voltage regulators, and other NTPC electrical systems in diesel, gas, wind, solar, battery energy storage systems and /or hydro generating stations. All work shall be carried out in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code and Northwest Territories Power Corporation policies and standards. Previous experience related to installing and commissioning diesel gensets rated 75 kW and above is also required.
Assists in SCADA system maintenance and repairs including start up, cleaning of filters and checking of various input and output devices.
Troubleshooting and repairs to Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
Maintenance and repairs to high and low voltage switchgear and breakers. Cleaning breaker circuits and motor control centres, cleaning and calibration of high voltage breakers, torqueing buss bar bolts and inspecting wiring and terminations.
Salary for this position ranges from $50.05/hr.-$60.81/hr. plus a location allowance of approximately $11,808 per year.
