- High School Diploma or GED or minimum grade 10 with at least three (3) years’ experience as a journeyman.
- Red Seal Journeyperson certification or NWT Journeyman certification is required if your qualifications are either Electrician, Power Line Technician, Millwright, Heavy-Duty Mechanic or 4th Class Stationary Engineer. If 4th Class Steam Engineer must provide certificate/credentials and the capability to be successfully registered with the GNWT – Operating Engineers. Other Journeyman level trades may be considered.
- Must have three (3) years of experience as either a Journeyperson or a 4th class stationary engineer
- One (1) years power generation or utility experience. Would be considered an asset
- Good planning, trouble shooting, organizational and communications skills
- Proficient in computer applications such as email communications, spreadsheets, word processing software and CMMS.
- Ability to read off blueprints as well as interpret drawings, diagrams and specifications of a variety of types of electrical and mechanical equipment, including manufacturer’s manuals and parts books
- Team player with the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Successful Criminal Records check
- Possess a valid class 5 or 3 driver’s license
This is a bargaining unit position. Salary for this position ranges from $54.10/hr-$65.72/hr. This position is located in Yellowknife, NT. Relocation assistance may be provided.
