The purpose of this Expression of Interest (EOI) is to solicit resumes from applicants who may be interested in casual work with the Northwest Territories Power Corporation, Energy North Operations. Casual employment is on an as-and-when basis and full time hours are not guaranteed. Please review the overview, responsibilities and qualifications to determine your suitability. In a team environment and under the general supervision and direction of the Manager Plant Operations in the Beaufort Delta, the Casual Plant Operator is responsible for the operation and maintenance of power generation facilities while ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable supply of electricity to the community. Responsibilities include the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the Inuvik power grid system, including diesel and gas engines, the battery energy storage system (BESS) and wind turbine. This role also involves the routine maintenance of generation assets, plant buildings, auxiliary equipment, yards and fencing.
This casual position pays $42.96 per hour plus 10% vacation pay. No housing or relocation assistance is provided.
