- High School Diploma/GED-equivalent or minimum of grade 10 with at least two years experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Powerline Technician, Millwright, Power Engineering, Parts Technician, Heavy Equipment Operator in an industrial setting, or work at a power generation site.
- Red Seal Journeyperson Certification if your qualifications are either Electrician, Powerline Technician, Millwright, Power Engineer, Parts Technician or any other industrial trades would be considered an asset.
- Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license or higher.
- Good planning, organizational and communications skills.
- Proficient in computer applications such as email communications, spreadsheets and word processing software, and knowledge of CMMS.
- Ability to read off blueprints as well as interpret drawings, diagrams and specifications of a variety of types of electrical and mechanical equipment, including manufacturer's manuals and part books.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and participate as a member of a team, maintaining open and reliable communications with co-workers to ensure team production and efficient operation.
- Must be willing and able to work shift work/rotation, as well as travel to other hydro/diesel sites throughout the NWT as needed.
- Satisfactory criminal record check is required prior to commencing work.
- Satisfactory references.
This is a bargaining unit position. Salary for this position ranges from $46.33/hr-$56.33/hr. plus a location allowance of approximately $4,642 per annum.
