This is Journeyperson level work in the repair and maintenance of electrical generation and control equipment, along with auxiliary equipment such as electric motors, transformers, relays, electronic governors, voltage regulators, and other NTPC electrical systems in diesel, gas, wind, solar, battery energy storage systems and /or hydro generating stations. All work shall be carried out in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code and Northwest Territories Power Corporation policies and standards. Previous experience related to installing and commissioning diesel gensets rated 75 kW and above is also required.

To perform senior level work in the maintenance, diagnosis and repair of electrical generation and control equipment, along with auxiliary equipment such as electric motors, transformers, relays, electronic governors, voltage regulators, and other NTPC electrical systems in diesel, gas, wind, solar, battery energy storage systems and /or hydro generating stations. All work shall be carried out in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code and NTPC policies and standards.
Under the direction of the Director of the Energy North Operations Division, is responsible for providing mechanical technical expertise and field engineering support services for the operations and maintenance of power systems and all mechanical assets for NTPC’s Energy North Zone generation, LNG storage and handling, residual heating and other systems. Also supports solar, wind and other renewable generation technologies as required. Scope includes all communities, buildings, plants and facilities in NTPC’s Energy North Zone. Acts as ENO’s conduit to facilitate best business practices in coordination and cooperation with Asset Management, Project Management and Engineering.
To perform journeyperson level mechanical work on diesel generator sets and associated support equipment including, pumps, compressors, radiators, heat exchangers, lubricating oil systems, fuel oil systems, cooling systems, and other mechanical equipment. The incumbent will be responsible for the routine maintenance as set out by the manufacturer and the Corporations CMMS program, as well as the minor and major overhauls including work on larger diesel engines such as EMD, MTU Series 4000 and Cat 3500 series engines throughout the Corporation.
