Summer Student - Hay River   NTPC is looking for a Summer Student to join our Finance team. This position offers an opportunity for students pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field to gain practical experience in the Electrical Utility sector. The selected candidate will collaborate with finance professionals and contribute to accounting and financial analysis projects.

Summer Student - Inuvik   The summer student will assist with general maintenance & labour tasks as assigned.  

Summer Student - Yellowknife   Under the general supervision of the Manager, Hydro Plant Operations, you contribute to the safe and efficient operation of the NTPC Plant. Duties would include heavy lifting, weed whacking, painting, mopping, cleaning and assisting the Plant Operators and Trades Staff with daily tasks and duties. The successful incumbent will gain experience with and knowledge of plant operations.

To perform journeyperson level mechanical work on diesel generator sets and associated support equipment including, pumps, compressors, radiators, heat exchangers, lubricating oil systems, fuel oil systems, cooling systems, and other mechanical equipment. The incumbent will be responsible for the routine maintenance as set out by the manufacturer and the Corporations CMMS program, as well as the minor and major overhauls including work on larger diesel engines such as EMD, MTU Series 4000 and Cat 3500 series engines throughout the Corporation.

This is Journeyperson level work in the repair and maintenance of electrical generation and control equipment, along with auxiliary equipment such as electric motors, transformers, relays, electronic governors, voltage regulators, and other NTPC electrical systems in diesel, gas, wind, solar, battery energy storage systems and /or hydro generating stations.  All work shall be carried out in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code and Northwest Territories Power Corporation policies and standards.  Previous experience related to installing and commissioning diesel gensets rated 75 kW and above is also required.
